Why this observatory exists, and what it will not pretend to be.
ORRERY is a fiction with a strict diet of facts. The transformer is real. The winters were real. The cracked plate is real, in the sense that you have already met it in a confident paragraph that cited nothing.
We built a working model of a mind because the other metaphors had failed us. The mind as factory: too many hands. The mind as god: too much kneeling. The mind as chatbot: too much furniture. An orrery is honest. It is a machine that shows you a sky it cannot live in.
We did not come to sell you a mind.
You will not find a product here. You will not find a waitlist that pretends to be a movement. Ingress is a door because some people still like to knock, and we like to know who is standing in the cold.
If you work on these systems, you already know the rings. If you do not, we wanted you to feel them before you were asked to trust them. Attention is a glance. Memory is a table with too few chairs. Output is a guess with good manners.
Leave the dome as you found it. If you must take something, take the habit of looking at the instrument instead of through it. That is the whole of the note.
