Rabi oscillations measure the coherent driving of a qubit between its ground and excited states. By sweeping the pulse duration (or amplitude), you observe sinusoidal oscillations in the excitation probability. The frequency of these oscillations gives you the Rabi frequency, which is proportional to the drive amplitude. A π-pulse corresponds to the first peak, giving you exactly 50% excitation - essential for creating superposition states.
